May 6 – Stories within Scenes: Photographing Intimate Landscapes in Nature Workshop with Jennifer Renwick, 7-9pm via Zoom

About This Workshop
Small scenes are often the untold stories within grand landscapes—quiet narratives woven into the expanse that invite deeper exploration and creative expression. In this presentation, Jennifer will dive into the art of seeing and photographing these smaller moments within larger landscapes, revealing how to uncover and capture them in ways that evoke story and emotion. She’ll discuss identifying and photographing a smaller scene and teach how to find the smaller narratives in the grander landscapes. From there, she’ll share compositional techniques that bring focus and impact to these intimate details, along with approaches for using storytelling and expressive photography to convey mood and meaning. Learning how to capture these smaller stories in the landscape can transform our photography and connection to the landscapes we love and create more compelling and personal imagery.
This workshop is a joint presentation with the Sunshine Coast Camera Club.

About Jennifer Renwick

Jennifer is a full-time nature photographer based in Colorado. For the last eight years, she’s traveled the American West in a travel trailer with her partner, fellow photographer David Kingham, photographing the landscapes and teaching photography workshops in various national parks and wilderness areas. Jennifer’s photographic passion lies in focusing on the smaller details in those landscapes. She enjoys practicing slow photography, visual storytelling, and expressing my emotions through her imagery. She has a particular passion for photography projects.
Jennifer’s work has been featured in various photography magazines and books, including LensWork, Landscape Photography Magazine, Outdoor Photographer, On Landscape, and the Lenswork’s “Seeing in Sixes” photography books.
