In 2024, in honour of VCC’s 80th anniversary, the club established with Camosun College the Victoria Camera Club Award for Excellence in Photography. This bursary of $1000 was intended to support a student in the Visual Arts Diploma program who had completed the photography courses and demonstrated creativity, potential, passion, and dedication in photography, who was hardworking, kind, and helpful to peers, and who needed financial assistance.
In 2024, the award went to Jeannie Chipps and in 2025 to Jacobe Hermann.

Our initial agreement with Camosun College was that the bursary would be offered for three years—2024, 2025, and 2026. At its next meeting in April 2026, the VCC Board will consider extending this bursary for another term.
