Ask any serious photographer what they think of ‘artificial Intelligence’ and what it means to photography and you are opening yourself up to a flood

Having the opportunity to experience and photograph the total solar eclipse of April 8, 2024, was a dream come true for me, combining my deep interest in astronomy with my passion for photography.

Night photography uses long exposures to reveal the hidden colours, subtle details, and quiet movement that emerge after dark. The mix of darkness and artificial light creates scenes with strong contrast and atmosphere, making familiar places feel new. With a tripod and a bit of planning, you can capture city lights, starry skies, light motion and trails, silhouettes, or, in a different attempt, capture quiet and balance in places with low-light.

This October, I joined Danish photographer Thorsten Overgaard for a multi-day street and portrait photography workshop in downtown Vancouver. Working exclusively in black and white, I explored the city through light, geometry, gesture, and character.

Fine-art photographer Kathryn Delany explores the philosophy of wabi-sabi through creative composites — blending realism and texture to reveal the beauty of imperfection, transience, and time’s gentle passage.
