Michael Easton: Theme (Black & White)

Michael started his photographic life with a Kodak Brownie box camera at age 6. His skills are largely self-taught through experimentation, discussions with other photographers and the continual reading of technical books on photographic methods that interest him. His photographic eye is uniquely his own without any particular mentor or teacher.

Michael’s association with the Western Photographic Circle (WPC) since 1987 has given him significant motivation in the pursuit of technical excellence in photographic art. He has achieved this through a monthly peer review of prints from many talented fine art photographers from the Lower Mainland.

Michael has been judging at camera clubs, photographic salons and various photographic competitions for over 25 years. He always likes to take the time to encourage photographers with helpful suggestions and positive comments.

Cheryl Bramble: Altered Reality

Cheryl joined the local Kelowna camera club in 2011 and that’s when photography became a Passion.

Commitment to continually improving her skills led Cheryl to joining CAPA in 2016. For 5 years she was the club’s Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA) Representative and also the Competition Chair, responsible for the club’s submissions to external competitions.

Cheryl received her Judge’s Certification in 2020. In February 2021, she was appointed the Assistant Director of Competitions, and she is also a member of CAPA’s Competitions Team. Cheryl considers her involvement with CAPA and its members both an honour and a privilege.

Mike Byrne: Prints (All Categories)

Mike has worked as an independent photographer and filmmaker for 30 years. His work has taken him through much of Europe, Africa, South America, and to 48 American states and all 10 Canadian provinces. He climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, watched a sunset from the Acropolis, dodged howler monkeys in Brazil, explored the Ngorongoro Crater, and marched with soldiers in American Civil War re-enactments. He has also worked at two Olympic Games. Mike has written, directed and produced over 350 short films and documentaries.
