*Urban Abstract Photography Workshop with Rick Lawrence, November 13, 7-9pm
Rick Lawrence has become well known for his urban abstract photography, with abstract and minimal images produced from photographs taken in his immediate environs and on his travels in Canada, South America and Europe. In this workshop he will discuss his approach to seeing and taking photographs and will demonstrate how many of his images are produced in post-processing.
Rick will use primarily Lightroom and Photoshop in post-processing demonstrations. A basic understanding of these tools would be useful but not essential. Participants will be welcome to use their own computers/laptops. There will probably be an opportunity to work together on images provided by the workshop leader.

*Novice Image Review with Pam Irvine, November 20, 7-9pm
This is an opportunity for Novice members to get a few of their images reviewed by some of the more experienced members of the club. This is NOT a competition. You can be anonymous if you wish, but our intention to is create a safe place to honestly discuss your images and help you to improve your photography.
Your images will be viewed and discussed by the reviewers and simple suggested edits will be performed live with Lightroom giving the participants a chance to see before and after recommendations and to learn some Lightroom techniques and tricks. You are welcome to attend to learn from the discussions even if you do not have an image being reviewed.
Please email 1 – 3 images to Pam Irvine at at least one day before the scheduled session. Images sent at the last minute (less than an hour before) will not be able to be downloaded and reviewed. Images can be raw or jpgs. If you have problems sending your images email or phone Pam at 250-479-8152.

*Intermediate/Advanced Image Review – Black & White Images with Kathryn and Nick Delaney, November 21, 7-9pm
Kathryn and Nick Delany will be running a new series of image reviews (three in total) for our Intermediate and Advanced members in 2023-24. We have invited three guest reviewers to join us and we will review approximately 12 images per session. Each submission will get three opinions on how the image could be improved. We also provide a simulated competition score to indicate how the image may be judged for internal or external competitions. This will help members self evaluate their images moving forward.
VCC members at all levels are welcome and can learn from attending each session. You must register to receive the Zoom invitation, which is sent to you on the day of the workshop.
Intermediate and Advanced members should send one image to Kathryn when they receive the email request for submission, usually 2 weeks prior to the review session.
Please include the following information in your image submission email:
• Image title in the name of the JPG submitted
• Size the image: maximum 1400 pixels wide x 1050 pixels tall, at 300 dpi, no watermarks
• Camera metadata – f stop, ISO speed, focal (lens) length
• A brief statement of what you were trying to achieve with your image (i.e., the story)
