The Sooke Fine Arts Show has been the premier juried art show on Vancouver Island since its inception in 1986. It welcomes artists resident (including part-time) on any of BC’s coastal islands, including Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Haida Gwaii. Pieces in a variety of mediums are chosen by their jurors for exhibition. All artwork must be of a high caliber and display a good understanding of the chosen medium. Artwork must be the original creation of the artist with an emphasis on technical ability as well as artistic accomplishment. Each year SFAS strives to produce a fresh, original show. Work that is inventive, displays creativity and shows a fresh perspective is encouraged.
The Sooke Fine Arts Show will take place at the SEAPARC Leisure Complex, 2168 Phillips Rd in Sooke
from July 29 to August 7, 2023. This year’s show, as usual, features photography from a number of VCC members.
